Award for Turnaround Excellence

Winner of the 2020
Award for Turnaround Excellence

The LyondellBasell Channelview 2020 MeOH/BT Turnaround received this prestigious honor for achieving several stringent measures of success and delivering value to the entire business.

On December 1st, Asset Performance Networks (AP-Networks) hosted the first-ever virtual Turnaround Industry Network Conference (TINC). Among the highlights of the conference was the presentation of the 2020 Award for Turnaround Excellence, a prestigious honor that highlights exceptional turnaround performance. This year’s recipient was the LyondellBasell Channelview 2020 MeOH/BT Turnaround. The award was accepted by Jim Hicks, US Global Turnaround Manager at LyondellBasell.

The LyondellBasell Channelview Team Accomplished The Following:

“I want to offer my gratitude for the sage council and insights the AP-Networks staff offered to my team while preparing for this event,” said Jim. “The organization has been there for us throughout this journey. The critical look afforded by AP-Networks during T-APs 1–4 proved invaluable to my team.  We were able to take the honest, candid, and transparent feedback provided and turn it into actionable activities that increased our chances of success greatly.”

For 18 years, TINC has served as the premier turnaround management symposium, attended exclusively by representatives of owner-operator companies across the globe. The event serves as a knowledge network for Industry, gathering together leaders in the field of turnaround management to discuss trends and strategies for success. In recent years, AP-Networks has gone beyond success to ask the question: “What defines turnaround excellence?”

To answer this question, the company developed a stringent set of criteria for benchmarked turnarounds. These turnarounds not only score highly on the company’s exclusive Cost to Business Index (CBI), a quantifiable measure of value delivered. They are also safe, predictable, environmentally sound, and result in reliable operability.

AP-Networks was honored to recognize the LyondellBasell Channelview 2020 MeOH/BT Turnaround, which set a highwater mark for Industry.
